Wool collar pattern.

Boy wool collar

Achievement:

To assemble 64 points.

Knit in each row and in this order during 9 turns:

16 stitches to rib stitch (2 of the law and 2 inside out), 8 stupid point (always right),16 elastic,8 fool and 16 elastic, in total 64 points.

On lap number 10 make the crossing of the eight.

To Cross: catch the 8 first stitches in a safety pin and knit the 8 following rib knit, next, place the ones that were in the safety pin on the needle and knit them, also, elastic knit.

Now we repeat the above in this way 4 times:

Knit in each row and in this order during 19 turns:

16 stitches to rib stitch (2 of the law and 2 inside out), 8 stupid point (always right),16 elastic,8 fool and 16 elastic, in total 64 points.

On lap number 20 make the crossing of the eight.

When we have the 5th crossing, milk 10 more laps to match the start.

Once finished, the ends are sewn and we now have a beautiful wool collar..

  1. It is very pretty and looks easy to make.. Can you tell me what the garter stitch looks like??

    1. The home of wool says:

The garter stitch is the right stitch, moss or point down, it's all the same.

I was fascinated by your neck, in addition to being very practical, I would like to make one but with more points, but I don't know how to arrange them to make the braids. I hope you can advise me. Greetings from Mexico

    1. The home of wool says:

Hola, you have to add 24 points for every eight you want to make.

    Good morning!
Great pattern. I would like to do it. What type of wool is the best, needles and number of balls needed?
    Thanks in advance?

    1. The home of wool says:

I made it with merino wool 100%, specifically Merino Sport by Katia http://katia.com/lana.php?idLana=merinosport It is for needles of a 5 but I used a 7 so that it would be looser for me. I only used one ball. Kisses

Hola! I just discovered your pattern and I would like to improve it, but one thing is not clear to me, maybe because I'm a beginner: what do you mean by elastic knit? Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. All the best

    1. The home of wool says:

Rib knit is made by knitting 2 of the law and 2 purl the entire right round and purl all the purl stitches on the wrong side of the round. Kisses!

        Thanks a lot!!!

Conchita, how good a wool collar would be for me to withstand the cold mornings of posting the claim, buuuut I'm a man and when we were kids they didn't teach us how to use wool needles to make scarves, jerseys,,,,,, in my times, the girls are the ones who went to the OJE, to learn these things, the machos made us go to “the mi”, 24 months, so…..

Hello, I don't really know the thickness of wool you use., Can you tell yourself how many centimeters those measured you? 64 points you start with? Gracias!

    1. The home of wool says:

With the 64 points measures about 25 cm. I did it with Merino Sport from Katia http://katia.com/lana.php?idLana=merinosport It is for needles of a 5 but I used a 7 so that it was looser and I only needed one ball. Kisses!

  7. Mac says:

Well, I have started to do it but I don't have flats to make the eight… They seem like too many points to me, it feels very tight, work completely turned… Aid!!!

    1. The home of wool says:

Hola, From what you're saying, I think the wool is too thick for the needles you're using.. Try having it with thicker needles or use a finer yarn. All the best.

  8. Mac says:

I will try it like this, gracias!

Hola! I'm making a very similar one, but only with a braid in the middle. I don't know if you can advise me on the best way to sew the ends., once finished, so that the seam is not noticeable (or be noticed as little as possible). Gracias!

    1. The home of wool says:

      You mean the mane??

      1. pegalahebra says:

I mean, once the work is finished, and closed the points at both ends, how to join them, sew them, in the best way possible. 🙂
